In 1995, Scott Maclaskey started working after school and on weekends for Maclaskey Oilfield Services. He became a full-time driver after graduating from Hobbs High. He operated a “Super-Vac” Transport in the Permian Basin until 2007. He currently works out of the Fort Worth division and is a fourth generation Maclaskey working in the Oil and Gas Industry. |
In 1924, around the Virgil, Kansas area, Walter L. Maclaskey began hauling water and crude oil in his Ford Model-T tank truck, using a “one-armed johnny” manual hand pump for loading. He later named his company: W.L. & B.L. (Bertha Louise) Maclaskey Tank Service.

In 1956, Billy E. Maclaskey, started Bill Maclaskey Tank Truck Service of Eureka, Kansas. In 1959, He brought one of the first vacuum trucks to the area, capable of pumping what was once thought the impossible. It would later be known as Maclaskey Vacuum Transport, eventually becoming one of the larger independent crude oil purchasing companies in the area, with the slogan: “Your Rubber-Tired Pipeline.” |
In 1977, Kelly Maclaskey formed Maclaskey Vacuum Tank Truck Service in Eureka, Kansas with a 1974 Mack and one of Bill’s 1960 Thompson vacuum tanks. He hauled water to area drilling rigs and cleaned small oil storage tanks. A year later, it was moved and based out of El Dorado, Kansas. The company later was named Maclaskey Oilfield Services, Inc. to reflect the additional services offered at the time. In 1992, the company expanded into the Permian Basin based out of Hobbs, New Mexico. In 2007, the company expanded again into the Fort Worth Basin, based out of Weatherford, Texas with truck yards in Cresson and Jacksboro, Texas. |
